I’ve always thought that viral coats are beautiful. While usually the key to their frighteningly pathologic effects, viruses still hold such amazing geometric patterns and symmetry. Bacteria, while possessing its own interesting structure, doesn’t seem to come close in aesthetics; the complex yet simple arrangement that their more primitive siblings possess seem far more intriguing.
