I’m reading, or rather listening to, Ishmael Beah’s A Long Way Gone: memoirs of a boy soldier, which is a rather remarkable story. While Ishmael’s story evokes so much imagery, I choose to draw a lone boy soldier as I pictured him roaming the countryside of Sierra Leone. NYTimes article here.
