You might be asking yourself who is that? Or if you looked at the title, who is Gromov and is he related to Grover? What?! you don’t know Mikhail Gromov, one of the most renowned mathematicians of our time? Certainly every time I think about great mathematicians in the field of geometry, I think of Gromov. Well he was just awarding the Abel award, to go along with the host of other awards he’s won, including the fields medal. But to be perfectly honest I have no clue who this guy is and I only know about the fields medal because of Goodwill Hunting. I just wanted to try out my new sepia toned pen…and he looked like a willing model. Now I know about the great Gromov, and my view on geometry will never be the same.
