I had run across Robert Lang’s name, or more rather, his work before but I just caught his presentation at TED (http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/robert_lang_folds_way_new_origami.html) and was astounded yet again. His work with origami is certainly impressive, but his mathematical modeling algorithm and practical application outside the world of paper are perhaps more was intriguing.
