My alma mater just announced it’s 17th president yesterday and I’m quite pleased for once. I wasn’t a huge fan of our outgoing president, but I’m hopeful for Dr. Jim Yong Kim. I first heard of him through Mountains Beyond Mountains in connection to Paul Farmer and further through the rest of his impressive resume. First off he’s an Iowan native and he’s Asian, has an M.D., Ph.D., and best of all he was educated at other ivy league schools so I know he’s actually smart. So goodluck Dr. Kim and congrats Dartmouth for making what I think is a fresh new choice.
