So this is what we all worked so hard for in college. A symbol that we made it somewhere, but an obvious symbol we’re so far from our eventual goal. It’s odd though, you put this coat on and it suddenly separates you from everyone. It’s part of a setting up a hierarchy, and with that comes responsibilities. It’s too bad really, this piece of cloth makes others look at you differently, they assume things, they put you in boxes. Sometimes people see my coat and assume I know something, that I’m actually a knowledgeable health care provider…ah how ironic because every time I put this on I feel like I know less than I ever have.
